football 4 Peace: bringing values onto the football pitch

Once again we are proud to bring together over 1000 Arab and Jewish youngsters from neighbouring communities to take part in this year's Football 4 Peace. 60 coaches from the UK and Germany are teaming up with 150 local coaches to run values based sports activities across the country. Join us at the final festivals to see what values based football, where teams are judged on fair-play and not just goals, looks like.   

South and Centre Festival   

Venue: The Educational Center for Football Study (David Lowes) 6 Habaal Shem Tov Boulevard, Jaffa  

Date: 7 July 09:00 - 13:00 (closing ceremony begins at 12:00) 

North Festival

Venue: Doha Stadium, Sakhnin 

Date: 7 July 16:30 - 20:30 (closing ceremony begins at 19:30)

We are bringing a host of activities and surprises to the conference on the theme "the Power of Words". Don't miss afternoon tea with the British Ambassador and a discussion on 'Dialogue, Diversity and Diplomacy', come to our "Lexical Dimension in ELT" symposium with top experts, join us at one of our six workshops and visit our stand to get goodies.

the brits are coming!

Look out for the Brits at this year's Jerusalem International Film Festival. Join us at a special screening of Archipelago, which will be attended by British jury member Mike Goodridge. Producers, Jonny Persey, and Paul Trijbits, will be part of the Jerusalem Pitch Point committee. Liz Rosenthal and Tishna Molla, digital media experts will run a "Power to the Pixel" workshop. Professor Brian Winston will give the keynote speech at the Documentary Ethics Seminar at Mishkenot Sha'ananim.

opportunity for theatre professionals from the uk


We are offering two theatre professionals grants towards attending the British Council Showcase at the Edinburgh Festival. If you have not received this grant in the past, please send us an e-mail telling us about the about the group/institution you represent and how your attendance at the Showcase will bring a performance to Israel and/or increase artistic collaboration between the UK and Israel.  

Festival Dates: 22-28 August

We are running our second English summer school teenagers from Fureidis and Zichron Yaakov. 20 teenagers from each community will participate in the summer school which aims to raise their level of English whilst giving them the opportunity to get to know their nearest neighbours. The theme of the school will be London 2012 with an emphasis on the values, the participants will get the opportunity to try out some sports with guest athletes.
